Week Seven Reflection

Week seven Reflection
This week we looked at PowerPoint. We did so by creating a whole class PowerPoint, each individual had the opportunity to perform certain tasks, to complete the class PowerPoint. This PowerPoint is shared below so you can check it out. We were also placed in groups to create a lesson using one of these applications. They are: Prezi, Wordle and Mind Map(Mindster). After long hours of exploration and struggles all the groups were able to do their presentation on Thursday.

Task we have to accomplish:
  • ·         Class PowerPoint
  • ·         Group Prezi Presentation
  •        In the power point, we had to do the following:
  •       Change the template
  •       Add a topic
  •      Add the necessary details to each slide pertaining to the topic
  •      Add animation to each slide and text.
  •      Add a video
  •      References

Here are two videos, the first one is how to use power point and the second video is how to go about using Prezi.

PowerPoint

 Prezi

Challenges I faced:
§
Using power point isn’t a challenge for me, due to the fact I am used to this application.
§  Prezi, I really had to explore how to use it because I have never used this app before.
§  After signing up to use the app, it was limited use because it was basic account.
§  Despite the limitations, I still went ahead to accomplish the task given to our group.
§  I got stuck a few times when it came to adding images and videos.

How I overcame my challenges.

In using prezi, I overcame my challenges by using that same video posted above. It really helped me in understanding the application.

I learned:

In PowerPoint:
  •       How to add animation for words
  •      To add sound. (transition sound)
  •      How to hide and reveal

In prezi:
  •     How to create a whole presentation, that includes videos and images.

Conclusion

Powerpoint and Prezi are similar apps, but Prezi is a more advanced and creative way to show a powerpoint.
