Week Six - Reflection

Week six Reflection

This week we focused on creating our own video and a podcast. We had to download the applications: Audacity and Windows Movie Maker. We also had to create a script for our podcast. (homework). For Audacity to be able to save our files as mp3 we also had to download an app called LAME encoder.

Task we have to accomplish:

Here is a video on how to use Audacity. (I downloaded audacity from https://ninite.com/ )

Here is also another video on how to use Windows Movie Maker. (I download windows maker from ……………)

Here is also my movie on Parts of the body. Please do enjoy.

Here is my PODCAST and PODCAST SCRIPT enjoy as well.

Downloading audacity was quite simple. Getting to operate it, I had to exercise a lot of patience, because while recording myself it was really noisy in the background. So, I didn’t complete the recording in class, I completed the recording at home. However, I faced a lot of challenges with windows movie maker. Downloading it was challenging but after a few tries, I got the version that was freely accessible. Operating it I could have maneuver myself, but using the youtube convertor gave me a bit a problem. I had it on my laptop prior, but I didn’t use it for a while and it wasn’t downloading my videos it wasn’t working problem. So, I had to uninstall it and install it again and then it worked fine.

How I overcame the challenges:

I had to exercise the three p’s again: Patience, Practice and a lot of Perseverance. Especially with Windows movie maker process. But in the end, I was successful.

·         Audacity can be used to record. (Make Audio files)
·         It can also be used to cut music downloaded to your device.
·         It can be used to do a lot of other things. Examples:
·         Windows Movie Maker is a great app.
·         Used to create a video, by adding images, music and things you record using your device’s camera or even videos from YouTube or the internet.
·         It can cut, edit, trim
·         Learned also, to cite/reference all videos, images etc. that is taken from another source and not originally yours.

I will use what I learned by:

·         Using each application to boost my lessons, when returned to the classroom
·         Use it in my everyday life.

 Conclusion:

This week I learned a lot, and I will definitely be using these application to their full potential. I really enjoy video editing and music cutting and pasting. Let the exploration continue.
