Week Three
Week Three began by defining some terms:
- Asynchronous Communication - is the exchange of messages, such as among the hosts on a network or devices in a computer, by reading and responding as schedules permit rather than according to some clock that is synchronized for both the sender and receiver or in real time.
- Synchronous Communication- can be defined as real- time communication between two people. Examples include face-to-face or phone communication.
- Open Education Resources- (OERs) are any type of educational materials that are in the public domain or introduced with an open license. The nature of these open materials means that anyone can legally and freely copy, use, adapt and re-share them.
- Fair Use- is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and “transformative” purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work. Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner.
- Creative Commons - is an American non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share.

Week Three, was quite challenging but I got through it. I really had to be patience, had to keep practising and had to preserve, just to complete my blog page and get it going. I have also learned a lot from this weeks session that I can definitely use, when I return to the class. Especially from the open education resources.

Dear Casheena,
ReplyDeleteHow will you use a blog when you are teaching in your classroom?
T.M-R
Hello Mrs. Roberts,
ReplyDeleteA blog can be used in many different ways in the classroom. It can be utilized to publish assignments, allow students and parents to keep up to date with classroom activities.
Students can also use this means, to express themselves
and to ask the teacher questions on what was taught in class previously. I see it as a great way to keep a constant communication between teacher and student.
